YOUNGSTERS are about to turn the tables on grown-ups after they were accused of dropping litter on the streets of a town.
Freeborough Community College, at Loftus, east Cleveland, has organised a litter-pick - and has a squad of pupils to clean up the streets.
The squad's co-ordinator, 16-year-old Wayne Davies, said: "Residents have been complaining about it through the Loftus Community Forum and the school decided to act.
"The school is doing its bit to show it is not just the kids. Some of the kids don't go through some of the places where there is litter."
Ward councillor David Walsh, leader of Redcar and Cleveland Borough Council, said: "It is a classic example of a group of young people showing the rest of the community what needs to be done.
"Quite often it is schoolchildren who get the blame for littering when I know a lot of it is caused by adults."
The litter-pick takes place on Wednesday.
