MORE than 70 former classmates took a trip down memory lane at the weekend when they met for a school reunion.
People travelled from as far as Wales and Devon to swap schoolday recollections with fellow former pupils of Brooms Cottages Secondary Modern School, in Ferryhill.
The event, which included a buffet and disco, was held at Spennymoor Town Hall.
It was organised by Trevor Lee, who now lives in Yorkshire, Tommy Dobson, Joyce Barraclough (nee Hall), and Linda Knowles, who made contact with each other last year through the Friends Reunited website.
They felt 2003 would be a good time to meet up again because everyone in the class of 1969 would be about to turn 50.
Mr Dobson said: "It was a brilliant night. It was really fascinating seeing how people had changed and what everyone was doing now.
"It was lovely meeting people's partners, and five teachers were able to come along. I am sure we will do it again and lots of friends who lost track of each other over the years will keep in touch."
