SERIAL killer Rose West was said to be on suicide watch at Durham Prison yesterday, following the collapse of her alleged wedding plans.
The 48-year-old, who is serving ten life sentences, was being monitored round-the-clock after her romance with Dave Glover, of glam rock band Slade II, came to an end.
Glover, 36, who first wrote to the murderer in March last year, revealed at the weekend he had been thrown out of the band over the relationship.
Reports suggested that the pair were due to marry at a prison ceremony, but Glover now denies ever proposing to West. He said they had become friends after exchanging letters and that he believed she had been wrongly convicted.
West's solicitor, Leo Goatley, said: "It is clear he had not thought through the ramifications of a marriage to Rose."
