FOOTBALLING teenagers from Spennymoor Comprehensive School have visited Lothian House Nursing Home to thank residents for sponsorship which provided the school team with a new strip.
Residents were delighted to meet the boys and are looking forward to watching the team when they play in school matches during the coming season.
PE teacher Russell Braithwaite said: "This was a very generous offer from the home and we have invited the residents to come along to our home games whenever they can.''
The boys' visit coincided with the home's open day which was attended by relatives, members of the community and Sedgefield Borough Council's Mayor and Mayoress, Councillor David Newell and Councillor Lucy Hovvels, and Spennymoor Town Council Mayor and Deputy Mayor, Councillor Ross Hawkes and Councillor Elsie Summerson.
Home manager Odette Thorpe-Willett said she was delighted to see the teenagers.
