PIT PICTURES: Coalfield Stories is a photographic exhibition being staged from Tuesday, February 11, to Saturday, March 22, in the Lamplight Arts Centre, Stanley, by Amber Side.
PARISH MEETING: The Pastoral Parish Council of St Mary's RC Church, in South Moor, will meet on Tuesday, at 7.30pm .
NEW LANDLORDS: Tom and Sheila Henderson have taken over the Farmhouse Inn, once the Thatchers Foot, in east Stanley. They have started a quiz on Wednesdays at 8.45pm.
ASDA NEWS: The Stanley branch of Asda holds a slimathon, offering advice and weight checks, on Mondays, from noon until 1pm. Proceeds go to Leukaemia Research and £88 has already been raised for the charity.
AREA VIEWS: Ken Shields will give a view of the area to Stanley Men's Thursday Club in the Lamplight Arts Centre, Stanley, next Thursday, at 10.30am.
FOLK NIGHT: Jack Burness will be the guest star of the Beamish Mary Folk Club at No Place, on Wednesday.
