NORTH-East charities are to share in a £5,000 windfall, thanks to the Gateshead MetroCentre.
The charitable organisations receiving donations includes Gateshead Womens' Service, which works with victims of domestic violence.
Others to benefit are the North of England Children's Cancer Research Fund, Childline Yorkshire and the North East, and the Women's Cancer Detection Society.
Representatives from the charities received their donations from Ron Woodman, general manager of the MetroCentre.
Mr Woodman said: "We are delighted to be able to contribute to such a varied number of excellent causes in the area.
"MetroCentre always strives to put money back into the community and this is one of the best ways we can get involved."
