ANY organisations that have young volunteers are being urged to take part in a video.
The Hartlepool Community Network is looking for a team of people aged 18 to 25 to help make a pilot video about the role of young people in Hartlepool. They want to attract young people who are involved in volunteering, politics or youth work. No previous experience is necessary and by taking part, volunteers will learn how to use video equipment. Anyone who would like to take part is asked to contact Pamela Hargreaves, at Hartlepool Voluntary Development Agency, on (01429) 262641.
HOUSING PLAN: Stockton Borough Council's planning committee meets tomorrow to discuss plans to change a former nursing home in Yarm Road, Stockton into three houses. The committee is being asked to approve the plans.
BARGAIN BOOKS: Stockton Central Library will be holding a booksale for one week from Saturday until Saturday February 8. A wide variety of books will be on offer. The sale begins at 9.30am.
WEIGHT TRAINING: Courses are being run in Hartlepool to introduce men and women to weight training. Six-week courses are being held at Rossmere Youth Centre, starting on Tuesday, February 11, and Friday, February 14. Sessions are held between 10.30am and 11.30am. Places on the course must be booked in advance by calling (01429) 284046.
YOUR MEMORIES: Amateur Middlesbrough historian Norman Moorsom has been commissioned to write a history of the town's dockland, now at the centre of the Middlehaven multi-million pound redevelopment scheme. Mr Moorsom wants to talk to former dockers, who can write to Mr Moorsom at 5 Levisham Close, Acklam, Middlesbrough, TS5 7LT.
BARGAIN BOOKS: A booksale is being held at Norton Library tomorrow. The sale will run from 10am to noon, and from 2pm to 4pm. There will be a wide variety of books including a signed copy of Ben Elton's novel Stark.
WINE CIRCLE: The North Tees Wine Circle will meet on Wednesday, at 7.30pm, in the main hall at the Elmwood Community Centre, Darlington Road, Hartburn, Stockton. Visitors are welcome.
