More floodlight problems at Shildon mean that Bishop Auckland's home game with Bamber Bridge tomorrow will kick off at 2.30pm.

After their Northern League Cup tie with Whitley Bay had to be abandoned because of a damaged cable, Shildon informed Bishops of the problem. Bamber agreed to Bishops' request to change the kick-off time.

Bishops have a great opportunity to climb further away from the bottom two, as they have already beaten the Lancashire club away from home this season.

Bishop are hoping former player Jeff Smith will make more appearances for Premiership Bolton Wanderers. Under the terms of the deal struck with Bolton boss Sam Allardyce, Smith's fifth appearance at Sunderland last week triggered a payment of £5,000 to Bishops, and they will be due more after he has played ten, 15 and 20 games.

Spennymoor boss Jamie Pollock was delighted with the 6-0 win over Stocksbridge on Tuesday.

Moors hadn't won in the previous six matches, but a three goal burst before half time put them on course for three valuable points.

"We played with a lot of spirit and togetherness, and the endeavour was superb," he said. "If it wasn't for their keeper, then we could have had ten. I couldn't have asked for a better start, but that is the standard from now on."

The league game between Moors and Bishops, which was postponed last week, has been re-arranged for Tuesday, March 11 at the Brewery Field.

Whitby Town are looking forward to a semi final against Scarborough in the North Riding Senior Cup after beating York 3-0 on Monday night, Tom Reed, Aaron Wilford and Graham Robinson scoring.
