Billingham ASC: In a busy weekend the club competed in the Gateshead Open Long Course Meet at Ponds Forge, Sheffield against tough opposition.
Three swimmers collected medals between them two golds, two silvers and two bronze.
Eleven-year-old Christopher Wilkinson excelled himself with two golds in the 100m free and 100m fly, a silver in the 200m free all attained with large PBs and a bronze in the 200m IM.
Ten-year-old Glen Martin was terrific collecting a silver in his 50m free, his other swims being 200m free, 200m back all PBs and 200m IM.
Eighteen-year-old Lorraine Riddle swimming brilliantly collected a bronze in her 50m back. Her other swims were 200m back, where she just missed out on a medal, 100m free, 200m free, 100m back and 50m free and two PBs.
All the remaining swimmers though not bringing back medals all swam superbly with many gaining PBs to their times.
Two 11-year-olds Anthony Brown with four PBs 200m IM, 50m fly, 200m back, 50m breast, 200m free and 50m free. Craig Grounds swam the 200m free, 100m fly and 50m free.
Three 12-year-old girls were Charlotte Brown with three PBs 100m breast, 100m free and 50m free. Pippa Shepherd with one PB 50m free, 100m back and 200m back and Jessica Trewin with one PB 50m back, 100m breast, 50m breast and 100m free.
Thirteen-year-old Lisa Sheehan with all PBs 50m back, 100m breast, 50m breast, 100m free, 200m free, 200m breast and 50m free.
Two 14-year-olds Phil Grounds with three PBs 200m free, 100m fly, 50m free and 100m back. Emma Shepherd with all PBs swam 100m free, 200m free and 50m free.
Three 15-year-olds were Emma Wilson with four PBs 200m IM, 100m back, 100m fly, 400m IM 100m free, 50m free, 400m free and 50m back.
Jane Usher with two PBs 200m IM, 400m free, 100m free, 200m free and 400m IM Matthew Sheehan one PBs. 50m back, 400m free, 200m back, 100m free, 200m free, 100m back and 50m free.
Sixteen-year-old Peter Riddle with two PBs 50m back, 100m free, 200m free, 100m backand 50m free.
