A WOMAN has been charged with the murder of her baby daughter more than 13 years after the girl's death.
Maxine Jane Robinson, 34, is to appear before North Durham magistrates sitting in Peterlee on Wednesday accused of killing nine-month-old Victoria Jean Cope.
The girl died in the bedroom of the then family home in Whitehill Crescent, Pelton, on June 16, 1989.
A post-mortem put her death down to Sudden Infant Death Syndrome - cot death.
Durham Police recently reopened the case file and charged Ms Robinson with murder when she answered bail with her solicitor at Durham City Police Station on Wednesday.
