POLICE are trying to trace the movements of a man who was found unconscious in Stockton.
The man, believed to be in his 20s, was found in Norton Road shortly before 4am yesterday.
He was discovered on the pavement close to the Earl of Stockton pub by a passing motorist, who called the emergency services.
The man, who has not yet been identified, was taken to the University Hospital of North Tees where he was in a "serious condition" last night.
Detective Sergeant Gareth White said: "The man has head injuries but his collapse could also be linked to a medical condition.
"We do not know if he has been assaulted or not. He may well have been wandering around the Norton area in the early hours for some time before he was found.
"We would like to speak to anyone in the area between 3am and 4am and who may have seen him."
Anyone with information is asked to call (01642) 302226.
