RADIO station bosses say they are winning the airwaves battle for listeners.
The managers of 96.6 tfm and Magic 1170 last night claimed official figures confirmed they are market leader in the local radio listening stakes.
The sister stations have 16.6 per cent of the market share in Teesside, County Durham and North Yorkshire.
An estimated 194,000 people aged between 15 and 34 years old - 75 per cent of that age group - tune in during any four-week period.
Programme director Colin Paterson said: "We have recently invested a lot of resources in our programming line-up, and we have full confidence that the listening public will enjoy the new, and high-profile, presenters, including Big Brother's Jonny Regan and our latest coup, bringing Mark Goodier to 96.6 tfm from Radio 1."
