HEALTHY STAFF: Staff at Asda, on the Pattison Estate, have begun a healthy living campaign. Thirty-three members of staff have formed three teams to complete in a slimathon and 11 staff have signed a non-smoking pledge.
VOLUNTEER WORK: Anyone interested in doing volunteer work can find out more from staff at the Sunderland Volunteer Bureau, from 10am to noon, and from 1pm to 3pm, on Thursdays, in Connexions, near the Galleries.
HALL FUNDING: The Coalfields Regeneration Fund has given £23,356 to Springwell Village Hall to fund a co-ordinator for three years. There will be a meeting of the hall management committee on Monday, February 10.
STAY HEALTHY: An Isis health and education programme will be held in Biddick Village Hall. To take part, call 0191-416 8855.
