Tow Law Bass League

Davey Dixon capped a very good season for Tow Law New Market A when he won the League Singles Championship by beating teammate, John Parkin in the Final of the event held at the Tow Law New Market.

The New Market had already clinched the League Championship and the Captain's league title before adding both the winners and runners-up awards from the Singles Championship. Bob McFadden was another member of the New Market Championship team who reached the semi-finals but he went out to John Parkin, whilst Davey Dixon was beating Dave Thornton of Newhouse Club in his semi-finals.

Quarter final results: Dave Thornton (Newhouse Club) beat Colin Boughey (Cattle Mart); Joe Jordan (Cattle Mart) lost to Davey Dixon (New Market); John Parkin (New Market) beat Mally Henry (Stanley Earl Derby); Dave Metcalfe (Esh Mckennas) lost to Bob McFadden (New Market).

Willington League

Sunnybrow Brown Trout recorded their best win of the season when they only dropped three points to the visiting Willington Black Horse Inn to move to their best spot in the table this season.

Only David Gallagher and Billy Wragg took singles for the Brewer's Droop whilst Stephen Longhorn, Trevor Allchurch, Nigel Baker and Freddy Whitfield moved the Trout ahead. They improved the lead when Trevor Allchurch with Stephen Longhorn and Nigel Baker with Michael Pickles won the first two doubles. The visitors closed the gap by taking the third doubles through Bob Saunders with Billy Wragg but the Trout completed a good night by taking the team game.

Willington Black Horse Tavern lead the table by seven points from Hunwick Joiners Arms, who have a match in hand. The Prospect Club are in third place but trail the Joiners by eleven points.
