changes have been made in the command structure of North Yorkshire Police.
Detective Chief Inspector Barry Honeysett becomes the new operations commander for eastern division with the rank of temporary superintendent.
Chief Supt Philip Carnall will switch from the head of corporate developments unit to become the new head of complaints and professional standards (CDU).
He will be replaced at the CDU by Chief Supt Gary Barnett. His place as the commander of central area will be taken by Temporary Chief Supt John Lacey.
He in turn is replaced as operations commander by Det Chief Insp Javad Ali, who is promoted to temporary superintendent, while Temporary Det Chief Insp Alan Carey becomes the head of central area CID.
The new commander of eastern area will be David Short in the rank of temporary chief superintendent.
Chief Constable Della Cannings said: "In any organisation it is important to develop the knowledge and experience of its individual members, while at the same time using their existing skills and abilities to maximum effect. These changes are part of that developmental process."
