WALKERS will be strapping on their boots tomorrow for a trek across Derwentside.
The Acorn Amblers, part of environmental group Groundwork West Durham, will lead a five-mile walk from Beech Grove, Blackhall Mill, at 1.30pm.
Walkers can be picked up at the former fire station in Stanley at 12.45pm, Leadgate Post Office at 1pm, Sherburn Terrace at 1.05pm and Medomsley Post Office at 1.15pm.
Anyone taking part is advised to wear sturdy shoes and waterproof clothing.
The amblers hold a meeting on Monday at 10am in Craghead Village Hall, to launch a short walks programme, called Derwentside Doorstep Walks. It aims to set up a network of walk leaders.
