A WOMAN has been jailed after taking part in a burglary at a family home.
Linzi Elder, 23, was one of a group who broke into a house in Coronation Terrace, Springwell Village, near Washington, Wearside, to target the owner's BMW car.
Once inside the house, the group took the keys to the £11,000 car, along with £650 worth of property.
Elder, who already had a previous conviction for burglary, pleaded guilty to burglary and theft of the BMW on the basis that she aided and abetted someone else.
Peter Schofield, defending, said: "She comes from a respectable family who, without her involvement in heroin misuse, would never have been connected with the criminal courts at any stage."
Elder, of Waterloo Walk, Sulgrave, Washington, was jailed for 15 months
