THE family of a former hospital patient have raised £800 in his memory. The late John Gelson's daughter, Heidi, presented a cheque to the Mara Unit at Bishop Auckland General Hospital.
Heidi's friends and colleagues supported fundraising activities which included a tombola and raffle.
Locum consultant in haemotology Dr Mohsen Mahmoud accepted the donation, which will be spent on improving facilities for cancer patients.
