AN overgrown allotment has been chopped down to size to make way for organic fruit and veg.
Families with Sure Start East Cleveland volunteered to clear the undergrowth at allotments at the end of Graham Street, Liverton Mines, at the weekend. With the overgrown plants out of the way, they are now transforming the plot into an organic allotment, growing food for the local community.
