Saturday's game was one of the better derbies I have played in over the years. I thought Darlington came out and dominated the first-half and never let us settle or play our football.
But in the second half we played much better and in the end should have won the game with the chances we had. It was a former Boro teammate of mine, Andy Collett, who kept Darlo in the game towards the end with some terrific saves. We were disappointed to concede two goals from two set-pieces and will need to improve on this for tonight's game against Lincoln - a team with a reputation for playing long balls.
The atmosphere at what is said to be the last derby at Feethams was a great one to play in and kicking towards the massed ranks of Poolies in the second half was a big advantage for us.
It was nice to see Liverpool win the cup at the weekend, especially for the lads in our team who support them. They have been getting loads of stick off Trigger, as he's a United fan so it was nice for them to turn the tables round on him for a change.
We have a big week coming up - Bury at home on Friday after tonight's game - and it is vital we concentrate and pick up as many points as we can and keep a decent lead at the top.
