VOLUNTEERS will spruce up a footpath this weekend.
Durham voluntary countryside rangers, residents and parish councillors will work on about 400 metres of path, in Sherburn Village, on Saturday.
The path has steps and a bridge made of railway sleepers, which needs maintenance and safety work.
The volunteers will also rebuild a fence and carry out drainage work.
The helpers will be rewarded with a barbecue next to the footpath.
The event is one of a series to help celebrate the tenth anniversary of Durham County Council's Parish Paths Partnership.
