TWO men were taken to hospital yesterday after a bus carrying 32 passengers collided with a car.
None of the passengers were hurt but the driver of a Nissan Micra and the bus driver were taken to hospital after the collision in Dormanstown, Redcar.
The car driver, in his late teens, was thought to have suffered internal and spinal injuries.
Firefighters had to cut him free from the car wreck- age.
The driver of the single- deck Mercedes bus suffered minor injuries and was in severe shock.
The accident occurred at about 11.30am on Broadway West. The bus shunted the car for about 30 yards before it ground to a halt.
Police closed both sides of the road while the area was made safe and initial investigations began.
