A VILLAGE school is enjoying a double celebration after its academic achievements were recognised for the second time.
The Quality Mark earned by St Chad's RC Primary at Witton Park, three years ago has been renewed by the Basic Skills Agency.
The school had to meet ten criteria set out by the agency focusing on reading, writing, and number work.
It had to show it was raising standards and involving parents in the learning of its 90 pupils.
Headteacher Catherine Holborn said: "We regard each pupil as precious and unique and we foster a high level of motivation towards work and behaviour. We regard our parents as partners and the award is a tribute to the efforts of them, the staff and the pupils. Durham County Council has supported and encouraged us in everything we have done."
