THE fine details of a multi-million pound park restoration were put on public show yesterday.
Information boards were erected in Darlington's South Park, ahead of work on a £3.9m refurbishment of the area.
Borough council chiefs are hoping to restore the park, often criticised as neglected by local residents, to its Victorian glory.
The boards, which have been put up at Grange Road, Victoria Embankment and Parkside, display the work timetable and background information about the project.
Residents are also urged to visit the council's website - www.darlington.gov.uk - for progress reports.
An ecological survey of the site will be the first step, looking in depth at the park's plants, trees and wildlife to make sure no habitats will be adversely affected.
