COMPUTER peripherals firm Lindy Electronics has signed a deal to sell its entire range of products through one of the world's most successful Internet companies.
Amazon website, www.amazon.co.uk, took 25 items of Lindy merchandise on a trial run and soon decided to embrace the firm's entire 1,200-item catalogue after impressive online sales figures.
The most frequently-purchased Lindy products on the wesite include microphones, USB hubs and premium scart cables.
Darren Casey, managing director of Lindy, in Thornaby, Teesside, said: "It is a real boost for us as a North-East company to have one of the Internet's most popular retailers coming to us and asking for access to more of our products because they are selling so well.
"Online sales make up a very important part of our business, whether via Amazon, Tesco.com, which also stock our products, or both domestically and internationally through, respectively, our own www.lindy.co.uk and www.lindy.com websites.
"Our greater presence on the Amazon website will create a valuable new income stream for us."
