A veterinary surgery is to open in Darlington after councillors gave the go-ahead yesterday.
Vets 4 Pets submitted plans to the borough council to convert the former Security Surveyors premises, in Grange Road, into a surgery. Members of the authority's planning committee approved the proposals, despite complaints from other veterinary surgeries in the town.
TREE PLAN: An application for permission to fell two trees, an ash and a poplar, at 8 The Chase, Hurworth, has been received by Darlington Borough Council.
SCHOOL PLANS: Plans to build a classroom at the southern side of Heighington Primary School were approved by councillors yesterday.
HOUSING PLAN: Cleveland Bridge has applied for outline planning permission for a residential development at Geneva Lane, Darlington.
MOTORISTS' MEETING: Darlington Advanced Motorists will meet on Tuesday at the town's Indoor Bowls Centre. The meeting starts at 7.30pm and all are welcome.
HYPNOTIST LICENCE: The Redworth Hall Hotel has applied for a licence from Darlington Borough Council to hold a hypnotism night in aid of the Ann Teasdale Fund.

CHURCH SALE: A bric-a-brac sale will be held at St William's RC Church Hall, in Barton Street, Darlington, at 1pm on Saturday, March 15.
