A GROUP aimed at involving older people in improving life in Darlington is celebrating its first anniversary.
Growing Older Living in Darlington (Gold) is holding an event in April at Morton Park Business Training Centre to mark its first year.
Anyone who attends the event will be able to find out more about Gold, its achievements so far and how the group hopes to develop over the next year.
There will also be workshops giving people the chance to find out more about projecting positive images of older people and combating age discrimination.
Councillor Marian Swift, the Older People's Champion for Darlington, said: "The group has come a long way in its first year and has developed important links with many local organisations working on projects such as promoting positive images of older people, lifelong learning, developing the Gold Website and hospital care issues."
The event on Friday, April 11, is free. Places are still available by calling (01325) 482300.
