A DEVELOPER'S plans to double the size of a North Yorkshire village have been put on hold to allow time for more talks to take place.
Persimmon Homes wants to build 200 houses at Brompton-on-Swale.
The parish council has already registered its concerns and these have been echoed in a number of letters to the planning authority from people with homes in the area.
However, Richmondshire District Council's environment committee agreed on Tuesday that it needed more information before it made a decision on the scheme, which also includes a school.
The number of low-cost homes, the design of the estate and access are issues which planning officers say they need more time to decide on.
North Yorkshire County Council, which decides the county's overall housing strategy, has also yet to register its views on the proposals.
