THE first of 20 taster sessions for a course which will help reduce the risks of coronary heart disease, obesity and diabetes, has been held.
The sessions, run by Stockton Borough Council's sports development team, encompass a range of gentle stretches and other exercises designed for people who cannot take part in strenuous exercise.
People of all ages can now attend weekly sessions in Portrack, the Clarences and at St John's Living Well, Durham Road.
Andrea Hogg, healthy lifestyles co-ordinator for Stockton Borough Council, said: "The benefits of regular physical activity on health and well-being are enormous. It is also a great way of getting out and having a good time."
To take part in the next set of courses, due to start in June, call Andrea on (01642) 358535.
