WOULD-BE doctors got to practice medicine during a taster day at Durham University's Queen Campus, in Stockton, yesterday.
About 30 pupils from Teesside got hands-on experience of the kind of medicine course provided by the University.
The open day also gave pupils a chance to talk to medicine students and tutors.
Schools taking part included Prior Pursglove, Macmillan, Hartlepool Sixth Form, Stockton Sixth Form, Middlesbrough and St Mary's Sixth Form colleges.
Dr Jackie Spence, of the university's medicine department, said: "School visits take place throughout the year and provide a great opportunity for pupils to find out what is available for them at the university
"Our current medical students have had a lot of input in the design of the hands-on activities ."
