A CASH boost will make a major impact on a musical association which prides itself on being the home of the Mighty Wurlitzer.
The North-East Theatre Organ Association has been awarded £5,000 from the National Lottery's Awards for All programme.
The money will help the association improve facilities at its base in the New Victoria Centre, Howden-le-Wear, near Crook.
Members can now look forward the installation of a sound system.
The group also plans to buy a video projector for films and video presentations, such as lectures on the history and technical workings of the Wurlitzer, song slides for Christmas carols, and relaying close-ups of the organ console for lectures and master classes.
