CELEBRITIES including pop star Gareth Gates and Big Brother star Jade Goody have been put to shame by a group of learner drivers from Darlington.
The celebrities have been learning to drive for the cameras in Comic Relief's Celebrity Driving School show, but have been failing miserably.
At the same time, a group of eight female motorists on a driving theory test course set up by the Cockerton and Branksome Living Enterprise (Cable) community group have passed with flying colours.
They notched up a 100 per cent pass rate in their driving theory test.
David Regan, of Cable, said: "They have all done really well, unlike the celebrity drivers."
They were taking part in a course held every Thursday at the Cable offices, in Whitby Way, Branksome, Darlington.
The course is open to everyone in the Darlington area and features a hazard perception test for learners to practice on for their exam, and tips on all parts of the driving theory exam.
To take part in the course, call (01325) 354084.
