A PENSIONER was taken to hospital suffering from minor injuries after she had her handbag snatched.
Police are appealing for witnesses to the incident, which took place on Wednesday at 3.20pm in Sedgemoor Way, Billingham, Teesside.
The 62-year-old woman had walked from Low Grange Avenue with her friend. After they had parted company she walked past Derwent House Nursing Home into Sedgemoor Way.
Here she was passed by a man, who is described as white, 5ft 8in tall with short brown hair, small-framed glasses and was wearing dark clothing.
The man then turned around and attacked the woman. He knocked her to the ground, and as she lay there grabbed her handbag and snatched it from her.
