THE North Eastern Counties Welsh Pony and Cob Association, which celebrates its tenth anniversary this year, raised more than £300 when it began 2003 with its annual meeting and auction of promises.
The association holds a winter show at Richmond equestrian centre on Sunday, March 16. There are classes for in-hand Welsh, mountain and moorland and their part-breeds, while novelty classes are open to any breed or type.
Ponies UK qualifiers include Llanarth and novice open ridden, Colne and novice lead rein, Waxwing and novice first ridden, PUK handler championship and part-bred ridden, open to all registered part-bred horses and ponies.
Entries are taken on the day and schedules are available from Karen on 01388 710447. Further information about the association and membership details from Lynne on 01740 620395 or at www.welshponyandcob.com/necwpca/index.htm
