West Auckland Queens Head are through to the semi final of the Durham Minor Cup after another good performance saw them beat Sunderland Hendon Grange 4-0.
Queens Head never looked back after Anthony Bailes gave them the lead. Further goals from Matthew Moffatt, Andrew Bowes and Carl Jones put West one game from the final of the major county knockout competition.
Willington WMC lost the second leg of the Colin Waites semi final with Crook Wanderers but go through 6-3 on aggregate. Lee Furber and Paul Bailes put Wanderers 2-0 up but Malcolm McWilliams pulled one back during an entertaining first half. No further goals came in the second half when the action never lived up to the first.
Table toppers Byers Green St Peters dropped more vital points when they entertained Bishop Rugby Club. Paul Barker and Mark Foster earned the Rugby Club a 2-0 win with the second goal coming from a disputed penalty. Rugby Club have strung together five consecutive league wins and moved into contention for the title.
Louis Fraser gave Stanhope Town the lead at Howden Australian and a volley from Chris Lee made it 2-0. Australian came back to 2-1 through a Craig Robson penalty. Little looked on when Trevor Wright picked the ball up mid way inside his own half but he embarked on a great run to score Stanhope's third goal rated his sides best of the season.
Roddymoor had a great first half at Evenwood White Swan and led 5-0 at the interval. Two good goals from Andy Summerfield and Michael Shields gave the Swan some consolation but Roddymoor added a sixth to run out 6-2 victors. James Ivil bagged a hat trick the rest coming from Chris Dodds and Kevin Sanderson (2).
