AN art collection donated to Scarborough by Tom Laugh-ton, brother of famous British actor Charles Laughton, goes on show today.
To mark the centenary of Tom's birth, Scarborough Art Gallery will be exhibiting a varied collection of paintings given to it just a week before his death in 1984.
The exhibition features works by Atkinson Grinshaw, Ivon Hitchens and Matthew Smith.
As well as being a great art enthusiast, Tom was a hotelier in Scarborough, running the Pavilion and the Royal.
His brother became one of the most popular stars of the 1930s after his Oscar-winning performance in the title role of Alexander Korda's The Private Life of Henry VIII.
