Soldiers parted from their loved ones by the military build-up in the Gulf can send messages home thanks to a service launched by their radio station.
Catterick's Garrison Radio has opened phone, text message and e-mail centres.
Those serving in the Middle East can send and receive messages 24 hours a day.
The station will even hand-deliver e-mails to families without computers.
