POLICE are hunting robbers who raided a post office at the weekend.
Three men, believed to have been armed with a wooden or metal bar, went into the post office in Addison Road, West Boldon, South Tyneside, and demanded cash.
After threatening two members of staff and a customer, they fled with an undisclosed quantity of money, in a black Ford Mondeo driven by a fourth man.
A Northumbria Police spokes-man said no one was injured in the incident, at 9.38am on Saturday.
Police are appealing for help and say the car had a false number plate -Y547 TGA - that should have been X498 KCK.
Anyone who saw the raid or knows anything about the car is asked to call South Shields police on 0191-445 7555.
