A NORTH Yorkshire village school's expansion plans have been criticised by planners.
Markington Church of England Primary School, near Ripon, wants to build a classroom extension with a staff room above part of the building.
The decision will be taken by North Yorkshire County Council, which consulted Harrogate Borough Council about the development.
The borough council did not raise a formal objection to the plan, but expressed concerns that the brick used in the school would be hard to match and that the extension would create a "crude junction" between old and new materials.
