BRIDES-TO-BE had the chance to view everything they need to plan their perfect day at one of the region's leading wedding displays.
The Northern Echo's Bride and Groom 2003 exhibition was staged in Auckland Castle, the Bishop of Durham's home in Bishop Auckland, County Durham, yesterday.
Hundreds of people streamed though the castle doors to check out exhibitions from more than 40 companies.
There were three bridal fashion shows in the castle's St Peter's Chapel, with outfits from several wedding specialists.
Other exhibitors included florists, jewellers, car hire firms, hotels, photographers, stationery companies, makeover specialists, a piper, and horse and carriage company.
Debbie Mitchell, The Northern Echo's marketing and events manager, said about 2,500 people attended the event.
"It's been a fantastic day. Within 20 minutes of the doors opening, quite a few exhibitors already had bookings and the three fashion shows were packed out," she said.
