It might be a few days back now, but the last derby at Feethams will be remembered for all the right reasons.
I felt we dominated the first half and could have been 3-0 up - but credit to them as they stepped up a gear in the second half and showed why they are the best team in the league.
At the end we were grateful to Andy Collett for one or two very good saves which made sure we held onto a point and sent everyone home happy.
From a personal point of view it was very pleasing to get on the scoresheet with what will turn out to be the last goal in a derby game at Feethams.
Another pleasing point was the behaviour of both sets of supporters. There were a lot of rumours about possible crowd trouble but both sets of supporters deserve credit for making it an incident free afternoon. The same can't be said about last week's midlands derby between Villa and Birmingham.
Dion Dublin will no doubt deeply regret the head butting incident, but he isn't the first and won't be the last to lose control on the football pitch, especially in a derby.
The main concern for me was the incident when a supporter ran on the pitch to confront Robbie Savage. What would have been interesting would have been if Savage had thumped the idiot who ran on the pitch to confront him - what would the FA or police have done about it?
