BUS driver Tracy Capper will swap four wheels for eight when she and friend Michelle Strong attempt to rollerblade from Catterick Garrison to Richmond for Comic Relief.
Mrs Capper, 39, said: "I've always been up for a challenge or laugh so when we were thinking of what we could do to help, this is what we decided."
The pair, neither of whom have any previous skating experience, will set off from the garrison's Le Cateau School on Friday and will collect cash along the route.
Mrs Capper said: "Our children are pupils at the school but also William Hague will be there as he's handing over a certificate for the school's environmental work.
"I don't know if we'll be able to persuade him to join in but we're hoping he'll be able to wave us off."
