A MOTORCYCLIST is recovering after crashing into trees on a deserted country road.
The 33-year-old, from South Moor, Stanley, County Durham, had been riding a Suzuki 600 bike on the B6296 from Satley to Lanchester, when it left the road.
The man, who has not been named, was taken to the University Hospital of North Durham with suspected internal injuries and a fractured pelvis. He had five hours of surgery, but his condition is not life threatening.
Witnesses are asked to contact Inspector Alan Hutchinson on 0191-386 4929.
