VISITORS to the Angel of the North can now take home a miniature version of the popular artwork.
DJH Engineering, of Consett, County Durham, is manufacturing tiny angels at a scale of 1:500.
The souvenirs, cast in pewter, are given a special finish at the factory, to more closely resemble the weathered steel of the Antony Gormley sculpture.
The angel miniatures are on sale through Tate Enterprises, at Gateshead Borough Council's tourist information centres in Gateshead Quays and Gateshead Central Library.
The Angel of the North is seen by 33 million people a year and the keepsake is already proving a hit with tourists.
Andrew Jackson, visitor information officer at Gateshead Quays, said: "The replica angels have proved to be a great success. Their popularity shows just how admired one of the region's most prominent landmarks is."
