TWO doctors will test themselves to the limit in an effort to raise more than £5,000 for Guide Dogs for the Blind.
John Waldron and Duncan Rogers have pledged to cycle 235kms in ten days across the South Island of New Zealand.
The men work together at Mowbray House Surgery in Northallerton and before they can take part in the epic trip they each have to raise £2,500.
Businesses and patients have helped, including Specsavers in Northallerton, who, as well as making a financial contribution, have donated two pairs of sports sunglasses, worth £130 each.
Dr Waldron said: "The glasses will definitely come in handy for keeping out the midday sun.
"We're also grateful for all the support we've received from other local businesses and out patients. Without their help we couldn't possibly have contemplated such an exciting challenge."
Donations can be made at Mowbray House Surgery or at Specsavers on Northallerton's High Street.
