A BUSINESS and community group is trying to improve shopping in a North Yorkshire market town.
The Town Centre Forum aims to attract more high quality retailers to Richmond by launching its own marketing campaign.
It includes a series of bi-monthly events and a retail excellence awards ceremony in the summer, which will celebrate the success of existing retailers in the town.
Subsidised retail training is also being offered by the forum as well as shop facelift grants, ensuring all shops are of a similar high standard.
Richmond was recently voted one of the top ten places to live in the UK and, with 500,000 tourists visiting the town annually, it offers great potential for retail success.
