THE girls and boys running teams at Rosa Street Primary School, Spennymoor, are both celebrating competition successes this week.
Their sporting talents gained them the Anne-Marie Readshaw Memorial Trophy after both relay teams finished first in the competition on Friday, February 28.
The winning form continued when they beat off strong competition from other primary schools in the Spennymoor and Ferryhill area to win a cross-country event last week.
Headteacher Colin Craggs said he was extremely proud of the teams' progress. He said: "They ran very well in the cross-country event and extremely well in the relay race where they won by quite some distance. We are very proud of them and it is an excellent start to the season. Let's hope it continues."
