SWIMMING pool lifeguards could be given closed-circuit television support.
Teesdale District Council is considering installing cameras at Teesdale Sports Centre's pool in Barnard Castle.
A meeting of the council's economic affairs committee, members heard that an extra lifeguard had been employed to monitor the toddlers' pool to meet changes in health and safety guidelines.
Paul Branch, leisure manager, also said the toddler pool's opening hours had been reduced and that they were looking at putting in CCTV to help lifeguards.
