A YOUNG mother has had her head shaved to raise money for Cancer Research UK in memory of her recently deceased mother.
Paula Barker, 28, of Redcar, said: "My children won't recognise me when they come home and they've already said they're going to disown me."
The mother-of-two had raised £689 in two weeks, before her head was shaved at Vogue Hairdressers, in Queen Street, yesterday.
Her mother, June Barker, was 58 when she died of cancer in November.
She said: "My mother was very well known in Redcar and lots of people who knew her have donated money for this."
