local scenes form an important part of an art exhibition on display in east Durham.
The Long Gallery at Seaton Holme, Easington Village, is showcasing the work of retired teacher John Todd, who was born and lived in the village but now lives in Barton, near Richmond.
It includes lithographs, screen prints, etchings and working drawings, and features scenes from as far afield as The Gambia, Tenerife and Sorrento, Italy.
A spokeswoman said: "For five years, John has been heavily involved in the creation of large-scale individual ceramic installations. From his original designs, tiles are used as part of large wall panels, seen in schoolyards and other public buildings."
Mr Todd, a former Ryhope Grammar School pupil, studied fine art in Sunderland. His last teaching job was as head of art at Haughton School, Darlington.
The exhibition runs until April 7.
